After a year of planning and months of special events, the big weekend is almost at hand.
Our 100th anniversary celebration will take place on
Saturday and Sunday, April 17th and 18th, 2004.
On Saturday, April 17th at 6:00 pm, we will have a banquet at the Silver Dragon Restaurant, 835 Webster St.,
Oakland, California. This is going to be an opportunity to gather together to talk, meet friends,
enjoy our commemorative video of 100 years of history, appreciate the timeline of events banner,
and see for the first time the anniversary book which has been many months in the making.
On Sunday, April 18th, instead of our usual Sunday morning services, we will have a special
outdoor joint worship service at 3:00 pm followed by a reception. Our guest speaker will
be the Rev. Dr. Fumitaka Matsuoka, Executive Director, Institute for Leadership Development
and Study of Pacific and Asian North American Religion (PANA).
We very much want both members and friends of our church alike to be part of these celebrations.
In order to make arrangements with the restaurant, we need to have advance reservations
for the Saturday dinner. Just print the stub below, and return it to the address shown.

The grand prize is an original and beautiful lithograph print
by church member and artist Yoshiko Shimano.
